Google says people using the Gemini app can generate, preview and edit files inside a chat. Users can expand a file, type changes directly, highlight text to ask questions, or ask Gemini to revise it.
For people who draft reports, slides or spreadsheets, preview and revision inside the conversation could reduce switching between apps. Generated files still need human review for factual errors, formulas, formatting and sensitive information before sharing.

Google says people using the Gemini app can generate, preview and edit files inside a chat. Users can expand a file, type changes directly, highlight text to ask questions, or ask Gemini to revise it.
According to Google, PDF preview and editing work on the web and mobile, while documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, Markdown, TXT and code are supported on the web only. Examples include previewing a presentation before opening it in Google Slides or downloading it as PPTX or PDF, and opening generated tables in Google Sheets.
Google says the capability is available to Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers and personal accounts with access to Gemini, across the languages where the app is available. It says administrators have no separate control for this feature; they can control access to the Gemini app. Availability was not independently tested on individual accounts.
